We can prove that Physiotherapy and Osteopathy done properly really works and are passionate about as many people benefiting from this as possible. With both professions under one roof we bring out the best in each other.
Our patients consult us on everything from a niggle in the neck to complex sports injuries and post operative rehabilitation.
Our techniques are underpinned by evidence-based practice and backed by robust clinical reasoning. We are thorough as a matter of course, and will address everything that needs treating to resolve the problem. We do not over treat or treat unnecessarily: we find it, fix it then leave it alone.
We alleviate pain rapidly, treating the cause for long-lasting relief so that normal activities can be resumed as quickly and as safely as possible. We successfully treat complex and chronic conditions, many of which have been unsuccessfully treated elsewhere. Please click on the link to read Octopus Clinic testimonials.
Osteopaths carry out visceral treatments which address the function of the abdominal organs and lungs. It is used to relieve the symptoms of conditions such as constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma and post operative scarring.
In addition to this the difference between Osteopaths and Physiotherapists is training background. Physiotherapists tend to have more experience with post-op conditions due to spending a larger amount of time training in hospitals. Physiotherapists also have a stronger background in exercise and movement re-education used to treat the biomechanical cause of a problem, especially sports injuries. Osteopaths have a stronger manual background and spend more time training in structural techniques of the spine and pelvis.
At Octopus Clinic we benefit from each others’ differences by challenging each other and learning from each other so that you know you are getting the very best treatment.
